A Return
03:19
|
|||
Can you see what’s happening again?
A return to the old ways; an ultra-nationalistic culture of hate
And the disenfranchised masses will all say:
Pledge allegiance to our leaders
What they tell us we believe it
It’s the fault of immigration
Tarnishing this once great nation
NO!
No you’re missing the point
While we discriminate
Against those who are the same as us
They dismantle our rights
Our ways of life
While pointing fingers at
The weakest of the herd
We need to learn
This way of thinking only leads to one thing
Minorities mistreated, while history is repeated
So they target the press to appear persecuted
While their supporters strength in numbers, keeps them safe
Their movement grows, captivating abandoned youth
With their twisted version of the truth
While the indifferent look the other way
The bigots grow in number everyday
And now the time has come to take a stand
Alerta! Alerta! Antifascista!

Denial
01:33
|
|||
The polar ice is melting
The coral reeves are dead
The sea level is rising
It’s well documented
In positions of power
There are those that say
“Climate change is just a hoax and everything’s OK”
Just keep on spouting fucking lies
Drill the oil to make the money and the influence it buys
Soon will come a day when we’ve already gone too far
Too late for denial
It’s the leader of the “Free World”
Who says it isn’t happening
How fucking absurd?
They’d erase the life from the planet for their short-term profits
We have to speak out now we won’t have the chance again
We won’t get the chance again

The Ivory Tower
02:26
|
|||
The biggest corporations
Do not contribute
To society
All they do is refute
Their responsibilities
To pay some of their share
We have a deficit we need to make up from somewhere
Austerity
Has become the solution
To save the state money
So force the disabled to prove they need benefits
They must be diminished so these fucking hypocrites
Can give a tax cut to the rich
Can you believe the nerve of it?
While families live on the bread line
All the way to the food bank
Reducing public services
Making workers redundant
Putting further strain
On those that remain
In 2018
In the Big Society
They say “let them eat cake”
But there’s none for fuck’s sake…
An equal share of nothing much
Let the poor feed the poorest
Destroying the welfare state
Spreading poverty
And all the time the Ivory Tower grows in height
Until a point where we can’t see the top
